Until Dawn 2 Is Coming January 28, 2027

Until Dawn 2 officially has a release date. Firesprite has confirmed that the choice-driven horror sequel will launch for PlayStation 5 on January 28, 2027, with pre-orders opening September 10.

A New Cast, A New Nightmare

This time, Until Dawn 2 follows Dead True, a group of ambitious ghost hunters chasing their next viral hit.

Their story begins with an investigation connected to Blackwood Sanitorium, before events lead the group to Akishima Island, a remote South Pacific island where an abandoned luxury resort hides something far more dangerous than they expected.

Unlike a direct continuation of the original game's cast, Until Dawn 2 is designed as a standalone story with new characters and a new setting.

Your Choices Still Matter

The series' choice-driven horror remains at the center of the sequel. Decisions made throughout the story can change relationships, alter the path characters take, and ultimately determine who survives.

PlayStation says the game will feature several possible endings, giving players different outcomes depending on the choices they make.

Firesprite is also working with AdHoc Studio, the developer behind Dispatch, on the game's story, characters, dialogue, relationships, and branching decisions.

Dr. Hill Is Returning

The sequel isn't completely leaving the original Until Dawn behind.

Peter Stormare returns as Dr. Hill, with the character appearing again as the new story connects back to events surrounding Blackwood.

Players who pre-order either the Standard or Digital Deluxe Edition will also receive Dr. Hill-themed bonus content, including outfits and collectible bobbleheads.

Until Dawn 2 Release Date

Until Dawn 2 launches January 28, 2027, exclusively announced for PlayStation 5. Pre-orders open on September 10, 2026.

With a new cast, another isolated horror setting, and the return of decisions that can mean life or death, Until Dawn 2 is bringing the series back at the beginning of 2027.
