Minecraft’s Next Game Drop Is Officially Called Wilderness Bound

Minecraft’s next game drop officially has a name. Mojang has revealed Wilderness Bound, the third Minecraft game drop of 2026, with an emphasis on exploring the outdoors and preparing for adventures away from home.

Explore the Dappled Forest

Wilderness Bound will take players into the dappled forest, with exploration and camping playing a major role in the new content.

Players will be able to discover abandoned camps, set up their own campsites, and use new items designed for longer adventures through the world.

One of those additions is the straw bed. Unlike a normal bed, a straw bed lets players skip the night without changing their spawn point. It can be crafted using three hay bales, making it useful when exploring far from a permanent base.

Cushions Are Coming Too

Wilderness Bound also introduces cushions, which can be found at abandoned camps or crafted using three wool slabs of the same color.

Mojang is positioning them as another part of the update’s camping theme, allowing players to place cushions around their campsites while exploring the wilderness.

When Is Wilderness Bound Coming?

Mojang has not announced a final release date in its Wilderness Bound name reveal. The company says the new features are still in development and could change before their final release.

With a new forest to explore, abandoned camps to discover, and new camping tools to use, Wilderness Bound is shaping up to make exploration a bigger part of Minecraft’s next adventure.
