The wait for Grand Theft Auto VI is getting closer to the finish line, and the game’s worldwide release timing means some players will get into Leonida hours before others.
GTA 6 is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar’s launch information uses local timing, creating a staggered global rollout rather than everyone gaining access at the exact same moment worldwide.
New Zealand Gets an Early Start
Because of the time-zone difference, New Zealand will be among the first regions to reach launch day.
That creates a significant gap between players there and those farther west. Digital Foundry highlighted that New Zealand could gain access roughly 19 hours before Mexico and parts of Central America, making the global rollout unusually noticeable for one of the biggest releases of the year.
For players trying to avoid spoilers, that time difference could matter. GTA 6 is likely to dominate social media, livestreams and gaming communities almost immediately after the first regions unlock.

Pre-Loading Starts November 12
Fortunately, players won't have to wait until launch day to begin downloading the game.
